Super-efficient electrolyser manufacturer Hysata on Monday opened its global headquarters near Wollongong, aiming to have commercial products rolling out its doors within two years for a potential trillion-dollar market.

The 8,000 square meter oceanside facility in Port Kembla was opened by Energy minister Chris Bowen, who announced a $20.9 million grant for Hysata to develop and test a new 5 MW electrolyser for Queensland government-owned power company Stanwell Corporation.

The Stanwell project will represent Hysata’s first commercial scale deployment of its technology when it ships in 2025 to help make renewable hydrogen production cheaper.
