‘We are ready to go’: UNSW moves first on Startup Year

UNSW will begin recruiting students for its Startup Year program this week in anticipation of an official approval for places for the government pilot within weeks. Students will pay for the accelerator program through new government loans, but UNSW says it is working to eventually offer its year-long version for free.

The university on Monday announced it has accredited its UNSW Startup Year program in anticipation of awarding students that complete it a graduate diploma next year.

No other university has announced the creation of a program for the government initiative or an accreditation, which are needed to be eligible for the new HECS-style STARTUP-HELP loans.
