‘Very methodical process’: Husic defends $1bn quantum investment

Industry minister Ed Husic won’t reveal what terms the government secured for its part in a near $1 billion investment in a US quantum computing firm and has defended the secretive process used to select it.

The Albanese government insists the bold bet on quantum computing will create tens of thousands of jobs through the “spillover” benefits of bringing the US firm, founded by two Australians, to Brisbane.
