A pair of major US digital rights organisations have been approved to intervene in the eSafety Commissioner’s ongoing case against Elon Musk’s X in another blow to the Australian agency’s legal battle.
A Federal Court judge ruled earlier this week that Electronic Frontiers Foundation and the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression can intervene in the case, with their submissions due by early July.
The eSafety Commission had argued against the involvement of the two non-profits, which will likely rail against attempts to force the social media platform to block certain content around the world.
