Silicon Quantum Computing has landed a contract with the NSW government to design bespoke quantum hardware solutions that could be used to solve optimisation problems on Sydney’s complex public transport network.
The Sydney-based startup known for creating the world’s first-ever quantum computer circuit was awarded the $813,879 contract – its first-ever with the NSW government – following a tender process earlier this year.
The work, which will take place over the next 18 months, comes as the NSW government, through the state’s transport agency, continues to source quantum software from other global tech giants and local quantum startups.
