The board advising the Australian Space Agency has been emptied while the Industry department conducts a sweeping review of the agency’s three-pronged governance structure.
The review, which could result in the first changes to the agency’s charter since its inception in 2018, comes as the demands of the burgeoning local space sector continue to grow.
Documents tabled in the Senate last week reveal that all nine industry positions on the board are vacant, including the key roles of chair and deputy chair. The board can have a maximum of 10 members at any one time.
