The Albanese government’s flagship industry support program has received hundreds of approaches for investment despite lacking a formal application process, months after it was declared “open for business”.
The interest from companies seeking support from the $15 billion National Reconstruction Fund comes as further guidance and a dedicated application process for the program are still to be finalised.
On Monday, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said he would investigate why the NRF currently lacks of a dedicated process for applying for support, as the Opposition criticised a lack of transparency and slow roll-out of the program as major manufacturers shut down.
