Australian lawmakers are casting doubt on an Adobe-led metadata fix for AI harms, questioning whether the digital content ‘nutrition labels’ are part of a meaningful solution to the surge in deepfakes and copyright infringements.
While fronting a Senate inquiry on Tuesday, the company also faced questions on its subscription pricing model that has landed it in US courts and how far it will go to protect users’ rights.
The software giant appeared at the Canberra hearing to outline its effort to manage AI and encourage responsible innovation. Adobe said it supports a legal remedy for misuse of digital content and globally consistent AI regulations.
