Salesforce staff evaded ethics office to shower govt gifts

A Salesforce ethics office set up to approve the software giants’ gifts to government officials cleared only three of the 112 gifts to the disability insurance agency around a tender for its customer relationship management system.

Salesforce won the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) contract, which did not weight price and followed secret meetings with the then minister Stuart Robert.

The deal has climbed to $135 million since it was signed in 2020, with more than $100 million of that the result of contract variations, raising serious questions about the extent of gifting by tech vendors.
