The state-wide rollout of South Australia’s school management system has blown out by $47 million and is set to climb higher as the government re-doubles efforts on a rollout that is three years behind schedule.
The state’s auditor general on Tuesday released its report into the Education Management System (EMS) project, a legacy systems overhaul that has been underway in South Australia’s public schools for the best part of a decade.
The Department for Education began the project in September 2018, with the aim of capturing all student information across 900 public preschools, primary schools and high schools in a single record.
