Procurement scandal defamation threat dropped

The businessman linked to Stuart Robert and a controversial consulting firm that helped tech firms win government contracts has dropped his defamation threat against an MP scrutinising the procurements.

As former chair of Parliament’s audit Committee, Julian Hill examined Canberra firm Synergy 360, its owners and the government deals it helped tech multinationals land.

Mr Hill’s committee aired serious allegations and heard conflicting evidence, ultimately referring the scandal to the corruption watchdog a year ago.
