The Australian National Audit Office will review the procurement reforms put in place at the Digital Transformation Agency, the Industry department and Home Affairs in response to damning audit reports, with the first follow ups to be completed within 18 months.
On Tuesday, the ANAO accepted recommendations from the Parliament’s audit committee to conduct new audits to assess the promised response over several years.
The Digital Transformation Agency has promised to clean up its procurement processes, record keeping and governance “at a central level” after the ANAO found it had broken Commonwealth Procurement Rules and “fell short of ethical requirements”.
