NSW Parliament issues please explain on eConveyancing

NSW’s land titles regulator has been asked to explain why it did not disclose an impasse on national eConveyancing reforms in a report just days before the project was abruptly halted.

Amid mounting pressure for governments to act on PEXA’s monopoly, the NSW Parliament on Wednesday passed a motion compelling the Office of the Registrar General to report back on what it knew about the interoperability program and when.

The Australian Registrars’ National Electronic Conveyancing Council (ARNECC) paused the program after state and territory ministers met to review progress on the national competition reforms on June 11.
