NSW govt cybersecurity review under way

A root and branch review of cybersecurity is underway in New South Wales as the state government looks to hone in on the structural issues behind cyber hygiene problems, particularly at smaller, less resourced agencies.

The review comes as agencies continue with cyber risks outside acceptable tolerance levels and follows years of non-compliance with the state’s cybersecurity policy introduced more than five years ago.

NSW digital minister Jihad Dib revealed the review just days after releasing the NSW Digital Strategy, which is the first from the Minns government since arriving in office last year.
