The Board of the National Disability Insurance Agency approved a multi-million dollar proposal for a new customer relationship management system without a business case, an independent review has found.
Sign-off on the proposal in 2019 came just weeks after Salesforce, the US software company that would go on to win the $27.5 million contract, met with former Minister for the National Disability Insurance Scheme Stuart Robert and a former NDIA board member.
A year later, the value of the contract had ballooned to $53.5 million, according to the review, before more than doubling again over the next two years to reach $135 million at the end of 2023.
