Food Innovation Australia has become the first of the Industry Growth Centres to break away from the federal government and transition to a model of self-sufficiency, announcing plans for a range of new supports for the food and agribusiness industry.
After a decade of federal government support, the growth centre completed its transition to an independent, not-for-profit organisation at the end of last month, marking the beginning of its third iteration.
It is the first of the remaining Industry Growth Centres to complete the transition after government support dried up in 2022. Only one of the six centre, National Energy Resources Australia, has shut down to date.
