Industry players bidding to operate part of the Australian Space Park in Adelaide were notified of sweeping changes to the project on the same day that the South Australian government advertised it was pulling funding from the $66 million proposal.
In a letter sent to applicants as the Budget was handed down last week, the Department of Trade and Investment advised that the space park’s Common User Facility (CUF) designed to accelerate efforts to build space qualified technologies and scale operations at the park would “not proceed”.
As revealed by InnovationAus.com on Monday, the Malinauskas government will redirect its potion of funding for Australian Space Park near the Adelaide Airport to establish a separate Common User Facility (CUF) at the Lot Fourteen innovation district in the CBD.
