Govt to review $24m health comparison site with just 20 doctors

Health Minister Mark Butler has ordered his department to find ways to improve uptake of its medical costs comparison platform following revelations the $24 million website has just 20 doctors listing their fees.

The Medical Costs Finder platform aims to help Australians find and understand fees for GP and medical specialist services around the country, allowing them to find the typical costs for these services.

Under the platform, doctors can voluntarily disclose their fees, which would then be listed publicly on the website.
