GovERP reprofiled, $60m in funds deferred after delays

The federal government’s massive enterprise resource planning system overhaul has been “reprofiled”, with $60 million in funding destined for the technology project deferred until next financial year.

Officials from Services Australia confirmed the decision at Senate Estimates on Wednesday afternoon, just month after the agency played down delays to the project that started in 2019.

Dubbed the “digital backbone” of the APS, GovERP is being developed to replace existing SAP ERP systems currently used by five shared services hubs across government and which will reach end-of-life in less than three years.
