Advanced manufacturing will remain a focus in the top end, with the new Country Liberal Party-led government appointing a dedicated minister in Robyn Cahill.

Ms Cahill will hold the portfolio alongside six others, including trade, business and Asian relations, and workforce development. The portfolio was held by former deputy chief minister Nicole Manison in the former government.

Ms Cahill was previous the executive director of the Northern Territory (NT) branch of the Australian Medical Association. She remains chair of the NT Cancer Council.

Elsewhere in the new nine-member Cabinet, Joshua Burgoyne will oversee the corporate and digital development portfolio, while mew deputy chief minister Gerard Maley assumes the mining and energy portfolio and the renewables portfolio.

When she announced the portfolio shake-up, Chief minister Lia Finocchiaro said “rebuilding the economy and restoring the Territory’s reputation as a competitive destination to live, work, visit and invest is a key focus”.
