Export market grants get a modest bump for next round

Grants awarded under the reformed Export Market Development Grant program will be worth at least $20,000 following the introduction of a minimum value and a shift to a first-come, first-served award assessment process.

Small to medium-sized businesses looking to subsidise export promotion activities will be guaranteed a minimum matched grant of $20,000, so long as they meet the export market development grant’s (EMDG) eligibility criteria.

Under the new guidelines, grant applications will be assessed in the order they are submitted rather than grants being awarded to all eligible applicants, with round four of the program to allocate up to $104.5 million following cuts to the program in last year’s federal Budget.
