eConveyancing’s PEXA wants to delay opening its network

Market dominant electronic conveyancing provider PEXA is seeking another delay in the timeline for enabling competitors to interoperate with its systems, after complaining that the requirements are more difficult to meet than had been anticipated.

Australian Registrars National Electronic Conveyancing Council (ARNECC) said in July that it expects “full interoperability functionality to be released by the end of 2025 and is undertaking further analysis to settle final dates”.

A limited scope refinance transaction, which is to be the first transaction between the PEXA and Sympli electronic lodgement networks, is due to take place in Queensland this month. The technical solution for the ‘day one transaction’, as referred to by ARNECC, is complete with testing currently underway.
