Sydney quantum startup Diraq on Tuesday announced it has raised another $23 million to expand its local staff and launch into the US market as it pursues development of a full-stack quantum computer.

The funding round – the second part of Diraq’s Series A – was led by Quantonation, a French venture capital fund dedicated to quantum technologies, with participation from Higgins Family Investments and continued support from the University of New South Wales the startup was spun out of in 2022.

It brings the Series A to more than $53 million and total investment in Diraq, including Australian and US research grants, to around $184 million.
