‘Diluted’ APS tech policy is helping multinationals to dig in

Federal government policies that have become “diluted” through competing agency priorities have further entrenched the position of multinational tech companies in Canberra, making it harder for local companies to break through.

That is according to sovereign cloud supplier AUCloud, which also argues whole-of-government deals with the likes of IBM, SAP and Microsoft stifle competition and should be limited to unique offerings only.

In a submission to a parliamentary inquiry focused on supporting the development of sovereign capability in the technology sector, the ASX-listed AUCloud said that reforming government procurement starts with the design principles set by the Digital Transformation Agency.
