Delayed Defence data project paid for undelivered work

Defence’s troubled data consolidation program will not be completed this month as planned and is now targeting an end of year launch.

Officials confirmed the delay on Wednesday amid concerns the Senate was misled over payments made to the key contractor for incomplete work.

OneDefence Data is a $515 million project aiming to unify and better utilise the data held by Defence and to better manage it as a “strategic warfighting asset”.
