The country’s national science agency is moving fast to develop best practice guidance for businesses developing and deploying artificial intelligence, teaming with UTS’s Human Technology Institute and the wider Responsible AI Network for the work.
Two months after the federal government announced a new risk-based regulatory approach to AI, at least a dozen roundtables have been held by the CSIRO and the network to develop the voluntary AI safety standard.
The voluntary standard, one of the immediate actions from government’s interim response to safe and responsible AI consultation, will deliver “guardrails for industry” that apply to less risky uses of the technology.
