The national science agency has reclaimed most of the $200,000 it overpaid part-time board member David Knox, but some tax and super payments are still outstanding.

Last month, the CSIRO revealed it had overpaid the deputy chair of its board over several years but had not determined exactly why or tried to reclaim the money.

On Tuesday, a spokesperson for the agency confirmed the overpayment resulted from “Mr Knox receiving payment for his CSIRO part-time board member position while he was also employed on a full-time basis by another Australian Government entity”.
