Corporate entities lose procurement rules carve out

Corporate Commonwealth entities like the National Disability Insurance Agency will soon face the same procurement rules that apply to non-corporates after the Albanese government agreed to further tighten buying rules.

It removes any doubt about corporate entities also needing to obtain value for public money and act fairly and ethically when conducting procurements, and will subject them to tougher disclosure requirements.

It’s a victory for the national audit office, Parliament’s audit committee and its current chair Julian Hill, which have been pushing for years for the rules to apply to Corporate Commonwealth Entities (CCEs).
