Consultants’ myGov work dries up with in-house upgrades

The majority of $50 million in upgrades to myGov will be done by public servants as Services Australia moves away from systems integrators but faces a growing software bill.

The Albanese government last month provided secure ongoing funding of $580 million for myGov and set aside almost $50 million more for a suite of enhancements over the next two years.

The enhancements include fraud prevention, a support tool for Services Australia staff assisting with myGov users, improved notifications and messages, a security dashboard for users and access to the Census via myGov.
