This was how Microsoft founder Bill Gates summed up the nature and pace of customer adoption of new transformational technologies in an interview with the author of this column – in 1995 at the birth of the internet era.
Mr Gates’ assessment was true of the mainframe-to-personal computer era, the networking and internet era, and the social/mobile and cloud computing era.
