myGov will receive a $630 million cash injection from the Albanese government over the next four years and ongoing funding of $145 million a year from 2027 in recognition of the platform’s role as critical national infrastructure.
The funding commitment comes 18 months after an independent audit called on the government to back the digital services platform with at least $100 million a year in ongoing funding.
The 2024 federal Budget, released on Tuesday, includes $580.3 million for Services Australia to sustain the government digital services platform, now used by more than 25 million people, with a further $50 million set aside for enhancements.
