Budget Insider: Examining the 2025 policy entrails

Reading the tea leaves on tech and innovation policy ahead of federal Treasurer Jim Chalmers fourth Budget is even more hit-and-miss than usual, given the proximity of the election.

Regardless, the industry has high hopes for ambitious programs, if the stack of pre-Budget submissions are anything to go by. The wish-lists are long, with some more fanciful that others. But there is always a surprise or two.

The InnovationAus.com reporting team will be inside the press gallery Budget lock-up on Tuesday and will be posting stories to the site from 7.30pm, as soon as Mr Chalmers steps up to the Dispatch Box within the House chamber to deliver the Budget speech.

You can also catch up with everything technology and innovation related in a special Budget Insider 2025 webinar being hosted by InnovationAus.com at 10am on Wednesday 26 March.

Budget Insider is open to all. You can register to join the discussion by clicking here.

Moderated by InnovationAus.com publisher Corrie McLeod, this 45-minute online event features editor Justin Hendry; senior reporter Joseph Brookes; and editorial director James Riley.
