Audit office eyes automated scrutiny in new tech deal

The national audit office has shifted its managed services deal to a smaller local supplier xAmplify in a new $7.7 million agreement expected to bring automation to keep up with audited entities and budget pressures.

xAmplify on Monday announced its three-year managed services deal with the Australian National Audit Office (ANAO), which includes a partnership with Canberra based infrastructure and cloud provider A23.

The vote of confidence in local mid-sized suppliers comes after the ANAO ran the ruler over several bungled government tech projects and strained IT environments delivered by larger suppliers at other agencies last year.
