The next Queensland government is being urged to conduct a sweep of the legacy technologies underpinning the state’s citizen-facing platforms and services as a precursor to greater investment.
In a pre-election submission released on Tuesday, the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) said the review would be a first step towards de-risking platforms and improving information sharing, leading to productivity gains across the public service.
The AIIA also called for the creation of a standalone portfolio and minister for customer services and digital, replacing current arrangements where digital services are bundled with transport.
