The Teal independents have backed the Future Made in Australia bill after the government adopted some of their proposed amendments to improve transparency and accountability for funding decisions.

The amendments enable the Treasury secretary to consult with other agencies, including the Productivity Commission (PC), Climate Change Authority, and the CSIRO during the Department’s sector assessment process.
