AUKUS innovation challenge hones in on undersea systems

Australia and its AUKUS partners have launched the second trilateral innovation challenge, this time calling for technologies that aid the “synchronisation and teaming” of undersea systems.

Defence’s Advanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator (ASCA) issued the challenge statement on Monday, offering US$8 million (A$12.8 million) for up to 10 proposals across the three nations.

ASCA is leading Australia’s efforts on the trilateral challenge program, while the UK Defence and Security Accelerator and the US Defense Innovation Unit are taking point in their respective countries.
