The federal government’s in-house consulting unit’s new funding is only for one year and the total amount of that funding will remain undisclosed, officials revealed Thursday after Budget papers obscured details on the support.
It gives the unit just one more confirmed year to establish a sustainable cost recovery model, having relied on $10.9 million in appropriations since its inception in 2023 and initially offering services without cost.
Demand for Australian Government Consulting (AGC) has grown in its two years of operation, with more than a dozen projects completed and mostly positive feedback, officials told Senate estimates on Thursday.
