Billions of dollars worth of sourcing agreements with the likes of IBM, Microsoft and SAP will will be reviewed by the federal government, as it considers shifting the deals to a more competitive marketplace.
Amid calls to scrap what has become a procurement “fast lane” for the public service, the Digital Transformation Agency has commissioned an independent review of the seven tech-focused single-sourcing arrangements across government.
The review, first reported by The Canberra Times, comes just months before four of the arrangements — the sourcing mechanism responsible for close to $1 billion in contracts — are set to expire.
