Parliament software upgrade sets sovereign storage minimums

The software responsible for the daily operation of federal Parliament is set for an overhaul, with the department in charge going to market for off the shelf options after a separate bespoke government expenses system blew out in time and cost.

The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) has issued an RFT for applications that manages legislation, calendars, house motions, inquiries and questions on notice, and will consider breaking the work up among suppliers.

An existing DPS integration platform Must be able to access the new systems and data, which must all be hosted in Australian data centres.
