APS leaders to be schooled in digital as tech wrecks pile up


Federal public servants tasked with leading digital government projects will undergo mandatory training from next year, after a series of high-profile tech wrecks across Canberra.

As GovERP becomes the latest casualty of the government’s attempts to rein in “wasteful” tech spending, the new training program intends to help senior leaders navigate digital design and delivery.

It will feature a compressed ‘simulation’, where participants work to steer and govern a digital project from start to completion, making use of assurance and best practice approaches along the way.
