Clean Energy Regulator tech bill more than doubles

The private contractor bill for the regulatory technology upgrade to support Australia’s growing market for clean technology and carbon offsets has more than doubled over the last year.

Initially a six-month program of work costed at $22 million, the Clean Energy Regulator is now expected to spend $58.7 million building digital support for carbon abatement and conservation schemes over 18 months

Three of the original six projects that began in 2023 are still underway way, with the remainder of the ‘scrum teams’ set to finish at the end of this month.
