The Queensland government says it will assemble an advisory council of quantum experts before the end of the year, as it looks to seize the economic opportunities presented by the emerging technology.
The council, dubbed Quantum Innovation Queensland, was revealed as part of the state’s first quantum and advanced technologies strategy to help grow the local quantum economy.
It is one of two new governance structures set to be introduced, with the other being a new Quantum and Advanced Technologies Directorate within the Department of Environment and Science that will become a ‘front door’ for the sector.
