eConveyancing reform at a ‘critical juncture’

A new enforceable timeline for implementing interoperability between electronic conveyancing network providers could be finalised as soon as the end of June, with market challenger Sympli advocating for a roll-out to customers by 2024.

Sympli chief executive Philip Joyce told InnovationAus.com that delays in implementing interoperability have been a result of the slow rate of legislative change due to a New South Wales parliamentary inquiry, and from PEXA — current eConveyancing market power holder — “pulling away” from some of the work.

eConveyancing refers to the digital system that facilitates the transfer of property ownership, replacing paper-based processes.
