Perth-based startup Nuheara has taken out the inaugural Wildcard award at the InnovationAus 2021 Awards for Excellence overnight.
From tech to support self-driving vehicles, to quantum computing, to wearables, the wildcard category this year really showed the breadth and diversity of Australian ingenuity.
Nuheara took out the prize with a tech that is designed to improve the daily lives of its customers. Nuheara’s wearable tech offers hearing enhancement for the millions of Australians – and more around the globe – who suffer from some form of hearing sensitivity and loss, without the stigma or many thousand-dollar price tag of traditional hearing aids.
They are also the first hearing wearable in the market to offer a clinically validated hearing test, administered during device set up, to customise the device to the hearing needs of individual customers.
Also highly commended in this category were LiDAR innovator Baraja – who also took out the award for Advanced Manufacturing – and predictive analytics company, Advanced Mobility Analytics.
Also a finalist in this category was quantum computing trailblazer Q-CTRL.
