Queensland’s cybersecurity unit has received a significant funding boost in the 2023 state Budget, with the government to pump almost $60 million into the office over the next four years.
The Budget also contains funding for several digital projects, including a precursor to a digital twin of South-East Queensland and an upgrade of the state’s VET IT systems.
The $59.4 million in new funding for the Cyber Security Unit will see support for the unit increase in each period, from $12.3 million in 2023-24 up to $17.8 million in 2026-27.
