Domestic violence data focus for digital ministers

Domestic violence data sharing blockages facing federal, state and territory policing agencies will form the basis of discussions between Australia’s digital and data ministers on Friday.

Digital and data ministers will convene in Darwin to discuss ways to help law enforcement improve the sharing of information on perpetrators between jurisdictions amid the nation’s gender-based violence crisis.

Information sharing was a key issue raised at the emergency meeting of national cabinet called by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese last month after country-wide protests demanding an end to violence against women.
